  • Beskrivelse: In the harsh, ruthless world of Troumpa, a port slum on the outskirts of Athens, the flamboyant presence of a good-hearted prostitute, Magda, known by the nickname The Marquise, stands out. Magda finds her ideal man in the sailor Manos Apostolidis. After some hesitation, she decides to marry him and turn her life around. Joyful at the prospect of marriage, she says goodbye to her colleagues at the cabaret, where she used to dance and sing, and to the poor neighborhood where she lived. However, her dreams of a new life are shattered before the wedding when Manos kills Michalis, a pimp who was trying to become Magda’s protector. She is then forced to give all of her savings to Savvas, who is a friend of the deceased and who blackmails them. After these developments comes the amazing discovery. Her beloved is nothing but an unscrupulous pimp, who has staged the whole thing with Michalis and Savvas. When the ruthless trio try to play the same trick on Soula, Magda’s best friend, Soula kills Manos without hesitation.
